The best time to book maintenance is the season before you need the system. Heating maintenance belongs in late August through October, and cooling maintenance in March through May. Booking a furnace tune-up during the first cold snap puts you behind every no-heat emergency, and booking AC service during a heat wave puts you behind every no-cooling call.
The calendar that works here
Fraser Valley demand is sharply seasonal, and the shoulder months are genuinely quieter.
- Late August to October: furnace, boiler, and fireplace service
- March to May: air conditioning and heat pump cooling checks
- Any shoulder month: ductwork changes and custom fabrication
- Before you list a house: safety inspection and documentation
Why it is not just about waiting
A pre-season visit finds the failing part while it is still a scheduled repair rather than an emergency one. A flame sensor caught in September is a routine clean. The same sensor failing in January is a call-out on the coldest night, when parts availability and scheduling are both at their worst.
What if you already missed the window?
Book anyway. Being on the schedule matters more than the month, and if a cold snap arrives, plan holders are ahead of the queue. If your system is running fine, a mid-season visit is still worth doing rather than skipping a year.
Our winters are front-loaded with no-heat calls across Maple Ridge, Pitt Meadows, Mission, and the Tri-Cities. Customers booked in the shoulder season get the appointment window they asked for.
