These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Big Valley Heating & Sheet Metal Ltd ("Big Valley," "we," "us") website and the heating, cooling, and custom sheet metal services we provide across the Fraser Valley. By using this website, requesting an estimate, or scheduling service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please contact us directly by phone instead of using the site's forms.

Who We Are

Big Valley Heating & Sheet Metal Ltd is a licensed heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and sheet metal contractor based at 11868 216 Street, Maple Ridge, BC V2X 5H8, serving residential and light-commercial customers since 1986. All work is performed by qualified technicians in accordance with the BC Building Code, gas and electrical safety regulations, and manufacturer installation requirements.

Estimates & Quotes

Free estimates are provided in good faith based on the information available at the time — what we can see, what you tell us, and reasonable assumptions about conditions we cannot inspect without opening walls, ductwork, or equipment. A written quote is valid for the period stated on it (or 30 days if none is stated). If work begins and we discover materially different conditions — for example, hidden duct damage, code deficiencies, or equipment defects — we will pause, explain the change, and get your approval before proceeding with any additional cost.

Scheduling, Access & Cancellations

We make every effort to arrive within the scheduled window and will contact you if a prior job runs long or an emergency call forces a change. You agree to provide safe, reasonable access to the work area, including clearing stored items away from equipment and securing pets. If you need to reschedule, please give us as much notice as you can by calling 604-467-6474. Repeated missed appointments without notice may require a deposit before future bookings.

Payment

Payment is due on completion of work unless other arrangements are made in writing before the job starts. Larger installations may require a deposit with the balance due on substantial completion. Amounts more than 30 days overdue may accrue interest at the rate stated on your invoice, and we may suspend warranty service on unpaid work until the account is settled. Applicable taxes are added to all quoted prices unless the quote states otherwise.

Warranties

New equipment is covered by the manufacturer's warranty, which we register on your behalf where applicable; the manufacturer's terms (not ours) govern that coverage, and most manufacturers require documented routine maintenance to keep it valid. Our workmanship is separately guaranteed per the terms provided with your invoice or service agreement. Warranty claims must be reported promptly — continuing to run equipment that is visibly failing can void coverage and cause damage the warranty will not pay for. Warranties do not cover damage from misuse, neglect, unauthorized modification or repair by others, power surges, floods, or other events outside our control.

Maintenance Plans

Maintenance plan memberships renew on the schedule stated in your plan documents and may be cancelled at any time effective at the end of the current billing period. Plan pricing, included visits, and member discounts are as described in the plan documents provided at signup, which form part of these Terms for plan members.

Content on this website — including guides in our Learning Center, service descriptions, and pricing discussions — is provided for general information about our services in the Fraser Valley. It is not engineering, legal, or safety advice for your specific situation, and it may be updated at any time without notice. Heating and gas equipment can be dangerous: do not attempt repairs based on website content alone. The website is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. You agree not to misuse the site, including scraping it for commercial purposes, submitting false or automated form entries, or attempting to interfere with its operation.

Communications Consent

When you submit a form and check the consent box, you agree that we may contact you by phone, text message, and email about your request, as described in our Privacy Policy. Message and data rates may apply; reply STOP to any text to opt out. Consent is not a condition of purchase — you can always call us at 604-467-6474 instead.

Intellectual Property

The Big Valley Heating & Sheet Metal Ltd name, logo, photographs of our team and work, and the content of this website belong to us or our licensors and may not be copied or used commercially without written permission. Manufacturer names and logos shown on this site belong to their respective owners and indicate the equipment brands we are trained to service.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability arising out of the use of this website or any service is limited to the amount you paid for the service giving rise to the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages such as lost income or alternate accommodation costs, except where such limitation is prohibited by law. Nothing in these Terms limits rights you have under BC consumer protection law that cannot be waived.

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of British Columbia and the federal laws of Canada applicable in BC. Any dispute that cannot be resolved directly with us will be brought in the courts of British Columbia.

Changes to These Terms

We may revise these Terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the current version; continued use of the website after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. The version in effect when you booked a job governs that job.
